Back from the jaws of death
On the night of 2nd June 2023, I received an information from another animal lover that 2 dogs in an interior part of Madhyamgram were near death , and poisoning was suspected. The video shared by the mentor of the dogs showed both the dogs lying down and breathing heavily. From the video it looked that they have lost all motor functions, and are just waiting to die under the effect of a poisonous substance I reached the location on the night of 3rd June. Tragically, one of the dogs had breathed its last just a few hours before I arrived. However, I immediately started treatment for the surviving dog through parenteral route. After intensive treatment via parenteral route on 3rd and 4th June, which stabilized the dog, oral medicine was advised for the rest of the week. I again visited on 11th June, and the dog was much more stable and coming out of danger. Some more fluids and medicine were given on that day.
